We’ve had lots of positive feedback on the post about “recycling” your blog comments, by capturing them in a file for later use. The point is that every time you contribute to the online conversation, you are adding to your own inventory of knowledge-content. This can be stored and reused in multiple situations.
Now here’s a breakthrough tool to make the job easy, in case you haven’t come across it already. Google Notebook is an absolute marvel for capturing and organizing your comments and posts. You open the Notebook at the bottom of your browser, and copy and paste into the folder of your choice. Notebook automatically inserts the URL (web site address) of the blog you have copied from, and records the date. You can (and should) add “labels” — these are keywords that make later retrieval easy.
One tip here: when I’m capturing my own comment, I always precede it with a snippet from the post I’m referring to, for context. I use the > symbol to mark the quote.

I mentioned it to James recently, to check out http://www.Flock.com the new social browser, which has lots of built in tools.
